The Cream City Foundation is currently reviewing its grant process and priorities.

2007 Summer Grantees

During the summer grant cycle of 2007 Cream City Foundation is proud to offer support to the following programs/organizations (in alphabetical order):

16th Street Community Health Center ($2,700):
Funds to develop activities that combine the HIV prevention message, testing and counseling opportunities for Latino LGBT youth, including specific support groups targeting Latino gay and transgender youth.

Charles D. Productions ($1,800 + Billboard):
Media visibility project targeting African American LGBTQ and heterosexual youth between the ages of 14-24 in Milwaukee. Project will focus on encouraging HIV testing and outreach.

Children Service Society of Wisconsin ($4,500):
Supporting the services to ensure the safety and stability of LGBT youth who are in foster care. Work to focus on system change in Wisconsin ’s foster system and children services.

Shall Not Be Recognized ($4,000):
Photography exhibit portraying 30 same-sex couples in long-term, committed relationship. Photographs are accompanied by the words of the individuals. Exhibit will be shown primarily in non-LGBT public venues across Wisconsin and the country and be accompanied by oral histories of the couples. Project includes the distribution of 1,000 DVD copies of the program.

2007 Spring Grantees

During the spring grant cycle of 2007 Cream City Foundation is proud to offer support to the following programs/organizations (in alphabetical order)

Center Advocates: Supporting the organization of gay and lesbian Milwaukee Public School (MPS) employees who need health insurance for their families into a campaign to secure domestic partner benefits at MPS. ($5,000)

Lesbian Alliance: Supporting the creation of a pilot lesbian women's music series to start in the summer of 2007. The series will consist of monthly performances by lesbian musicians in a substance-free space. ($2,000)

The Queer Program: Supporting the creation of a Q-Youth Cable TV Training Project that will train LGBT youth the techniques of basic cable access television production. ($2,228)

2006 Summer Grantees

During the summer grant cycle of 2006 Cream City Foundation is proud to offer support to the following programs/organizations (in alphabetical order):

Children Service Society of Wisconsin and the Milwaukee LGBT Community Center ($4,000):
Supporting the services to ensure the safety and stability of LGBT youth who are in foster care. Work to focus on system change in Wisconsin ’s foster system and children services.

League of Women Voters, Inc. ($490):
Funds to support the reproduction and distribution of video to League of Women Voters chapters across Wisconsin focused on the constitutional amendment to ban civil unions and gay marriage.

Senior Action in a Gay Environment (SAGE) Milwaukee ($2,600):
Support a pilot program targeting women participation and organizational capacity building in communication with other leading women programs.

Women Voices Milwaukee ($2,000):
Support for operational activities including funding for promotion, venue costs and website development.

2006 Spring Grantees

During the first grant cycle of 2006 Cream City Foundation is proud to offer support to the following programs/organizations (in alphabetical order):

Action Wisconsin Education Fund ($2,500):
Support of public education campaign toward the constitutional ban on civil unions and gay marriage with specific outreach efforts in the Milwaukee Area African American, Latino, and business communities.

Aids Resource Center of Wisconsin and Charles D. Productions, Inc. ($3,000):
Support collaborative effort between ARCW and Charles D. Productions to provide HIV/AIDS education outreach, including outreach to African American communities.

Children Service Society of Wisconsin ($2,500):
Supporting the specialized counseling and advocacy services to LGBT youth in foster care. Part of match challenge of 2005.

FORGE ($1,000):
Funds to support a transgender needs assessment to address transgender issues within other LGBT organizations.

GALANO Club ($1,500):
Support of the advertising campaign to increase outreach efforts through the Milwaukee County Transit system.

Milwaukee LGBT History Project ($1,000):
Support of a Pridefest display, printing costs, and program supplies related to the continued collection and distribution of local LGBT history.
